It's really rainy today. Misty, mysterious, and reflective. The perfect day to find a cozy corner, snuggle up with a warm alpaca blanket from D. Bryant Archie Textiles and read a good book - maybe a well worn favorite by Paulo Coelho. Yea, I realize it's Tuesday. But for us in the freelance world, sometimes Tuesdays are our Sundays.

Seriously. We had to do a re-shoot cause this backyard space just kept getting better. We decided to spray the large pickle barrel (the one with the smoke tree) a glossy black to complement the ceramic pots housing the eunomyous shrubs. And we waited to get the rainbarrel in, though I am not sure you can see it on our website. It's there though, trust me!

3 years and counting...a labour of love.

With the clients satisfied with the design solution, we were onto phase 2 - the implementation phase. Our first stop was to clear the backyard and get that bare canvas we designers love. Aside from the organic, we found some other interesting elements that had to go, including fake flowers and plastic chairs.

Occasionally we get a chance to do fun stuff...uhm, I mean other kinds of fun stuff. Interiors (and exteriors) are loads of fun, but work can get mundane at times. So we definitely relish these opportunities when they arise. And maybe instead of relish, I'll take these with ice-cream, a couple candles, and sing me happy birthday or whatever will ya?
